Save the date: 25 October Open Access Event

Tuesday 04 October 2022

Open Access Week is held in October each year, which is an international event about open access. The Leeuwarden Libraries and Research Services of NHL Stenden are collaborating together and organizing a lecture and workshop on Tuesday afternoon, October 25, to pay attention to this topic.

Britta Ricker Ph.D. is assistant professor at the Department of GeoSciences at Utrecht University. Her expertise is in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), particularly cartography and CyperGIS. She will speak about Governmental open data – both globally and locally; about the importance and the value of these data in making decisions.

In addition, Jellie Visser and Ingrid van Gorkum will explain how to make data FAIR. They will present how to make sure they are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable, of course taking into account privacy and non-compete clauses.
